The Canton Museum of Art (CMA) has announced the appointment of Amanda Crowe as its new Education Director, effective August 9, 2024. Crowe, an experienced art educator, artist, and museum professional, is committed to enhancing CMA’s School of Art and museum education programs, while also engaging with the community through outreach initiatives.

Crowe brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as CMA’s Museum To Go and Education Outreach Coordinator since 2022. In this capacity, she has developed innovative programs connecting students with the museum experience and has extended art education benefits throughout the community. Her previous role as Education Coordinator at the Akron Art Museum for seven years further solidified her expertise in developing impactful educational programs that increase engagement.

Crowe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from Thiel College and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Kent State University. Her vision for CMA’s education programming involves making the museum a hub for creative coping and emotional health, integrating arts into local schools and neighborhoods through strategic partnerships. The Canton Museum of Art, recognized for its focus on American art, offers a variety of educational programs, classes, and workshops for all ages.
