The Canton Museum of Art appointed Amanda Crowe as its new Education Director, effective August 9, 2024. Crowe has served as CMA’s Museum To Go and Education Outreach Coordinator since 2022, where she developed in-class lessons for Stark County fourth through sixth grade students and led community outreach programs including an Art Coping Cart for Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.
Before joining CMA, Crowe was Education Coordinator at the Akron Art Museum for seven years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from Thiel College and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Kent State University.
Crowe said her vision for CMA’s education programming involves the museum becoming “a source of resilience, and a learning lab for creative coping and emotional health” by integrating arts into local schools and neighborhoods through partnerships.
