SPACES gallery in Cleveland has announced its spring 2026 exhibition schedule, highlighting new work by artist-in-residence ọmọlolú Refilwe Bàbátúndé and the curatorial project “Patterned.” The exhibitions will be on view from May 15 to June 27, 2026.
Refilwe Bàbátúndé’s solo exhibition, “meditations on be(IN) thr(u),” will feature an immersive installation drawing from their interdisciplinary practice, including sonic/video collages, familial archives, and newly created printed matter. The artist, whose work centers on the healing properties of Black sound, will also host a free workshop on May 2 exploring the use of sound and breath as tools for self-attunement.
The curatorial project “Patterned,” organized by Thea Spittle, will showcase the work of five artists—Yuko Kimura, Rebecca Marimutu, Susan Schroeder, Lo Smith, and Annmarie Suglio—who explore various interpretations of patterns in their textile, printmaking, photography, and sculpture. The exhibition aims to examine how visual patterns can illuminate patterns of behavior and cultural heritage.
