SPACES, a Cleveland-based nonprofit arts organization, has announced the appointment of Pita Brooks as its new Executive Director, effective December 15, 2025. Brooks, an arts leader and artist, is expected to guide the organization with a focus on strengthening community relationships, aligning with its mission, and supporting artists throughout Northeast Ohio.

Brooks brings extensive experience in arts administration, notably as the former Executive Director of Akron Soul Train, where she oversaw significant organizational growth and expanded programming. Her previous roles at moCa Cleveland and the Cleveland Institute of Art also provide her with a deep understanding of the regional arts landscape. Brooks aims to foster authentic connections, develop sustainable operational models, and lead SPACES through a strategic planning process that prioritizes artists.
