Opera Columbus, in collaboration with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and CAPA, will present Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin” for the first time in Columbus’ history. The production is scheduled for March 1 and 2 at the Ohio Theatre, with both performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. This marks a significant cultural event for the city, bringing a celebrated operatic masterpiece to local audiences.

The opera, directed by Rosetta Cucchi and conducted by Rossen Milanov, is based on Alexander Pushkin’s novel and tells the story of Tatyana’s unrequited love for Eugene and the tragic consequences that follow. The cast features Lydia Grindatto as Tatyana and Morgan Smith as Eugene Onegin. Performances will be sung in the original Russian with English supertitles, and will run for approximately two hours with a 30-minute intermission. Ticket prices range from $10.00 to $108.00.
