The Foundation for Italian Art and Culture (FIAC) presented the Cincinnati Art Museum and its director Cameron Kitchin with its 2024 Excellency Award, which recognizes contributions to the promotion of Italian culture in the United States. FIAC gives the award to one U.S. and one Italian honoree each year; the Italian recipient was the Galleria Borghese and its director Francesca Cappelletti.

FIAC, a New York City-based nonprofit, facilitates the loan of Italian masterpieces to American museums and supports restoration of artworks in Italy. Over the past decade, CAM has partnered with FIAC on projects including “Tintoretto’s Genesis,” a research, conservation, exhibition, and publication project with the Gallerie dell’Accademia di Venezia.
