Columbus College of Art and Design will present its annual CCAD Fashion Show on May 14 at the Canzani Center, with a new immersive gallery format replacing the traditional runway. Guests will move through Beeler Gallery and encounter each look from steps away, with garments positioned throughout the space as wearable art.
Approximately 15 student designers will present work, including graduating Fashion Design seniors and students from across disciplines. Collections range from bold, ultra-feminine silhouettes challenging ideas of gender expression to anatomically inspired garments incorporating 3D-printed structures and intricate beadwork. Other pieces explore heritage, identity and material innovation.
“This year’s format allows audiences to engage with each piece in a more immediate and meaningful way, highlighting not only the craftsmanship behind the garments, but the ideas and stories that drive them,” said Suzanne Cotton, Chair of Fashion Design at CCAD. Doors open at 7 p.m. for VIP and 8 p.m. for general admission, with the show beginning at 8:30 p.m.
