The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati has partnered with Urbana Cafe, which opened a new location in the museum’s Kaplan Hall Lobby on April 6. The cafe operates seven days a week, with weekday hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekend hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., creating daily foot traffic in the museum’s ground floor.
Alongside the opening, CAC expanded its public hours by reopening on Wednesdays. Gallery hours run Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (5 p.m. on Wednesdays) and Saturday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through June. CAC members receive discounted food and beverage at the new cafe location.
Urbana Cafe’s move to CAC is a temporary relocation while Urban Sites redevelops the Atlas Building, where the cafe’s original downtown location operated, into residential apartments. The partnership positions the museum’s lobby as an active civic space throughout the day, extending CAC’s reach beyond traditional gallery visitors to downtown workers and residents.
