The Zanesville Museum of Art has announced plans to develop a master plan for its Military Road campus following a financial feasibility study conducted by Cramer and Associates in 2025. The museum’s board of directors voted to remain at the current location and pursue transformational improvements over the next decade.

The feasibility study found strong community enthusiasm for an expanded, reimagined museum and identified meaningful philanthropic potential to support the project. “The Master Plan will prioritize the amenities that community members need and want,” said Executive Director Laine Snyder. Planned improvements include dedicated children’s and family spaces, enhanced art pottery galleries celebrating Zanesville’s ceramic heritage, expanded education programs, additional collection storage access and new outdoor amenities on the museum’s 5.7-acre campus.

The Zanesville Museum of Art holds significant collections of American and European art alongside one of the largest public collections of Zanesville-area art pottery. The master plan development positions the museum as a long-term cultural anchor for the broader Appalachian region of southeastern Ohio.
