Opera Columbus has announced its 44th season under General Director and CEO Julia Noulin-Merat, themed “From Page to Stage: Stories in Music.” The season features three Columbus premieres and two returning favorites, running from September 2025 through spring 2026.
The season opened with Daniel Catan’s “Rappaccini’s Daughter” at the Southern Theatre in September, directed by Brandon Shaw McKnight, the company’s 2023-25 CRANE Directing Fellow. In October, the company presented “The Old Man and the Sea,” based on Hemingway’s novel and produced by Beth Morrison Projects in partnership with the Wexner Center for the Arts, at Mershon Auditorium.
The lineup also includes the Columbus premiere of “The Anonymous Lover,” Verdi’s “La Traviata” and the annual Cooper-Bing Competition. The “From Page to Stage” theme connects each production to its literary source, from Hawthorne to Hemingway to Verdi’s adaptation of Alexandre Dumas.
