ProMusica Chamber Orchestra welcomed Swedish soprano Camilla Tilling for her debut with the ensemble in January, performing a rare chamber orchestra arrangement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 at the Southern Theatre in Columbus. Music Director David Danzmayr led the January 17 and 18 performances.

The program opened with Osvaldo Golijov’s “Three Songs for Soprano and String Orchestra,” blending Klezmer, classical and folk influences. The second half featured the Mahler symphony in its intimate chamber orchestration, offering audiences a different perspective on the familiar work.

“Camilla Tilling is one of the most sought-after sopranos of today, and we are thrilled to welcome her to join ProMusica for the first time,” said Janet Chen, ProMusica’s CEO. The concert was part of ProMusica’s 47th season at the Southern Theatre.
