ArtsWave announced the fifth annual Truth and Innovation Artist Showcase on July 1, 2025, a free public event held July 19 at the Contemporary Arts Center in downtown Cincinnati. The showcase featured new works by 26 regional Black and Brown artists across multiple disciplines.

The event included six live performances spanning music and dance, four film premieres, and a visual art exhibition that remained on view through September 7. Featured artists included Gabriel Martinez Rubio presenting “HOME,” a contemporary dance piece exploring concepts of belonging, and Ingrid Woode’s “Cakewalk,” a documentary about Cincinnati-born classical piano prodigy Geneva Woode.

The Inspire Artist Grant program, now in its sixth year, is supported by a partnership among ArtsWave, the City of Cincinnati, Duke Energy, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Each artist incorporated community collaboration into their projects.
