ArtsWave, artist collective Often Seen Rarely Spoken (OSRS), and Rust-Oleum unveiled “Pineapple on Pizza,” a new outdoor mural at The Gruff in Covington, Kentucky, in 2025. The installation is part of Rust-Oleum’s national “Spray It Forward” mural program, which supports up to 10 murals across the country.

The project represents a milestone in ArtsWave’s growing commitment to creative placemaking in Northern Kentucky. “Public art helps people see their neighborhoods in new ways,” said Rachael Parker, director of Northern Kentucky Creative Placemaking for ArtsWave. “Projects like this offer a meaningful reminder of the power of creativity to bring people together.”

The mural adds to a growing collection of public art in the Covington area supported by ArtsWave’s expanded Northern Kentucky programming, which also includes a new gallery space and artist residency program at the nearby OneNKY Center.
