Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) will present a public preview of “O’Keeffe: Kiss the Sky,” a new opera-ballet commissioned by Washington National Opera and inspired by the life of painter Georgia O’Keeffe, on March 31, 2026. The announcement was made March 2, 2026.

Soprano Christine Goerke headlines the preview, which offers audiences an exclusive look at the work by composer Christopher Tin and librettist Kelley Rourke. The piece is part of Cincinnati Opera and CCM’s ongoing Opera Fusion: New Works partnership, which develops and worksheets new operas in Cincinnati before they reach wider audiences.

The hybrid opera-ballet format reflects O’Keeffe’s own interdisciplinary artistic life. The preview takes place at Cincinnati Ballet, bridging opera and dance in a single venue. Washington National Opera commissioned the full production for a future premiere.
