Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) announced on September 4, 2025, the appointment of Michael Bongiorno as chair of its Board of Trustees, succeeding Attorney Susan Rector. Bongiorno, Managing Principal and Design Director at AECOM, brings decades of experience in civic and cultural architecture and has served on CCAD’s board since 2019. Darci Congrove of GBQ Partners was named vice chair.

The college also elected seven new trustees effective July 1, 2025, including Jack Beeler (Porter Wright Morris and Arthur), Robert Coles (Stanford University), and Julie Granillo (Werth). Their diverse expertise spans law, higher education marketing, brand strategy, and community development.

“Michael’s leadership and vision are a perfect match for this moment in CCAD’s history,” said Dr. Melanie Corn, CCAD President. “He brings a passion for design, a thoughtful approach to governance, and a deep understanding of the value of creative education in building communities.”
