The Cleveland Museum of Natural History has promoted Dr. Nicole Burt to the newly designated role of Senior Director of Curatorial and Research Affairs. In the position, Burt will oversee all science-based research and institutional initiatives, guiding the museum’s curatorial direction across its Research and Natural Areas divisions.

A biological anthropologist, Burt joined the museum in 2014 as Curator of Human Health and Evolutionary Medicine. Her research centers on diet and health, food access, bioethics, and early-childhood feeding practices. She holds a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Alberta, a master’s degree in forensic science from Michigan State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Beloit College.
