Culture Works, the Dayton Region’s local arts agency, has awarded $68,284 to 15 Montgomery County artists through its 2025 Artist Opportunity Grant program. The grants, funded by the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District and administered by Culture Works, support new works, professional development, and community engagement projects.
Recipients include Brittany Antoon, who will attend a floral design workshop in Mexico; Jamaal Durr, whose project explores the impact of incarceration on families through figurative charcoal drawings and oil paintings; and Evan Fiehrer, who will record an album of original music rooted in Dayton’s funk history. Other funded projects include murals, textile work, artist residencies, and exhibition production.
A panel of artists, arts administrators, and community members evaluated applications based on artistic vision, plans for professional growth, and commitment to community engagement. The grants support projects through 2025.
