BalletMet has announced its 2025-26 season, the company’s 48th and the first programmed by Artistic Director Remi Wörtmeyer. The five-production season opens in October with three North American premieres of Wörtmeyer’s choreography alongside a world premiere collaboration with Columbus street artist Lance Johnson.
The opening program pairs Wörtmeyer’s “Miroirs” and “Concerto Mondrian” with a new “Rite of Spring” featuring design by Johnson. Trey McIntyre’s “Peter Pan” follows in February with sets and costumes by Emma Bailey, whose credits include Broadway’s “SIX.” A March triple bill includes work by company dancer and choreographer Leiland Charles, Juanjo Arquez’s “Ignite,” and Alexei Ratmansky’s “Seven Sonatas.”
The season closes in May with Wörtmeyer’s “La Bohème,” his first full-length ballet as BalletMet’s artistic director. The production relocates Puccini’s opera from 19th-century Paris to the French Quarter of New Orleans.
