Opera Western Reserve will present Dominick Argento’s “Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night” on May 29 at Stambaugh Auditorium’s Anne K. Christman Memorial Hall in Youngstown. The one-act monodrama, with a libretto by John Olon-Scrymgeour, premiered at the Minnesota Opera in 1981.
Kate Tiemens, an Opera Western Reserve emerging artist and senior at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory, performs the role of Aurelia Havisham, drawn from Charles Dickens’ “Great Expectations.” Scott Skiba directs. The evening includes a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m., buffet dinner at 6:15 p.m., and performance at 7:15 p.m.
