The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance has appointed Elaine Gounaris as vice president for philanthropy. Gounaris has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, most recently at the Dayton Art Institute, where she managed the museum’s Art Ball and Oktoberfest events.

Before joining the Dayton Art Institute, Gounaris led development efforts at Equitas Health and the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University. President and CEO Patrick J. Nugent described her as “a major force behind some of Dayton’s legendary fundraising events” and noted her childhood connection to the Dayton Ballet.
