The Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum at Miami University in Oxford received a $12,500 Buckeye grant from the America 250-Ohio Commission to fund the Culture Crops Photography Project, announced March 7, 2025. The grant supports a photographic documentation of Ohio food growing communities, with programming planned for fall 2025 through spring 2026.
Fine arts photographer Tina Gutierrez will travel to community farms to create portraits of Indigenous, immigrant, and local family farmers across Southwest Ohio and beyond. Videographer Asa Featherstone and food history expert Dr. R. Alan Wight will collaborate with museum staff to develop exhibition content and programming. Buckeye Impact Grants from the America 250-Ohio Commission support projects with statewide, regional, or significant local impact, with individual grants up to $50,000.
