SHED Projects, in collaboration with SPACES in Cleveland, presented a film screening and discussion on April 12, 2025, at 6 p.m. as part of a Semana Santa cultural program. The event featured a screening of the 1975 documentary “Pedro Linares Artesano Cartonero,” directed by Judith Bronowski, which documents the legacy of the Familia Linares, folk artists from Mexico City known for the paper sculpture craft of Cartoneria.

Following the screening, SHED Projects co-founders Gabrielle Banzhaf and Jon Gott joined special guests to discuss the project’s history, tracing it from SHED’s 2019 Alebrije program at the Sandusky Cultural Center to the Semana Santa program. Cartoneria is associated with the Quema de Judas, a Semana Santa ritual in Mexico.
