The Akron Art Museum will open She Said, She Said: Contemporary Women Artists on Saturday, March 22, in the Karl and Bertl Arnstein Galleries, with a preview evening on Friday, March 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibition runs through Sunday, August 10, and brings together more than 30 artists working in painting, photography, sculpture, video, and installation.

Works are drawn from the Rubell Museum Collection, with additional pieces from the Akron Art Museum’s own holdings. Artists represented include Cindy Sherman, Solange Pessoa, Beverly Semmes, Cajsa von Zeipel, Yayoi Kusama, and the Guerrilla Girls. The pairing marks the museum’s second collaboration with the Rubell Collection, following a Keith Haring exhibition.

Preview activities include entertainment by DJ Wilma Shakes, complimentary hors d’oeuvres, wheat pasting inspired by the Guerrilla Girls, Femme button-making, and a screen-printing station where attendees can print the exhibition logo on pennant banners. Admission for the preview is free for museum members and $20 for nonmembers. Press inquiries can be directed to Matthew Hribar at [email protected].
