The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati adopted a new strategic plan and mission statement, the institution announced at its inaugural State of the CAC event on May 30, 2024. The nine-month planning process was facilitated by the DeVos Institute of Arts Management.

The new mission statement reads: “The CAC is a lab for understanding ourselves, others, and the world around us through the experience and creation of all contemporary art forms.” The plan includes six objectives covering programming, outreach, membership, board composition, fundraising, and facility use.

Curator Theresa Bembnister also previewed the 2024-25 exhibition season, which included “Chip Thomas and The Painted Desert Project,” opening September 6, and “Subjective Evidence,” the first American survey of German photographer Barbara Probst, opening September 27.
