The Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati opened “The Scandinavian Home: Landscape and Lore” on June 13, with the exhibition running through September 20, 2026. Organized by The Frick Pittsburgh, the show features approximately 75 works from the private collection of Pennsylvania-based collectors David and Susan Werner, displayed publicly for the first time, according to the museum.
The exhibition spans painting, furniture, ceramics, textiles, metalwork and works on paper from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The objects date from 1880 to 1920, a period the museum describes as one of cultural transformation across the Nordic countries. The show explores how ideas of home, landscape and national identity influenced Scandinavian art and material culture during that era.
