Cleveland Ballet has announced its 2024-2025 season, the first shaped under the artistic direction of Timour Bourtasenkov. The season features three mainstage productions at Playhouse Square mixing classical and contemporary repertoire.
The season opens October 18 and 19 at the Mimi Ohio Theatre with a double bill of Dracula, choreographed by two-time Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett, and The Masque of the Red Death, choreographed by Robert Weiss. Both ballets use original scores composed by J. Mark Scearce, head of the music department at NC State University.
In December, a new production of The Nutcracker runs for 11 performances at Connor Palace from December 13 through 22, returning to the traditional interpretation with Tchaikovsky’s score. The season closes May 16 and 17 at the Mimi Ohio Theatre with Romeo and Juliet, set to Prokofiev’s score.
Cleveland Ballet will continue its Pay What You Can program, offering accessible performances during final dress rehearsals in addition to scheduled shows.
