Cleveland Ballet will debut a new production of The Nutcracker from December 13 through 22 for 11 performances at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace. Artistic director Timour Bourtasenkov choreographed the production, which features new sets by Jeff A.R. Jones and costumes by David Heuvel, director of costume production emeritus for Ballet West.
The production follows the traditional storyline of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. Special events during the run include the return of the Cleveland Grays for all 11 performances with tours of the Grays Armory, meet-and-greet photo opportunities with cast members after Saturday and Sunday matinees, and a Dew Drop jewels offering for young patrons at weekend evening performances.
A student matinee and Pay What You Can performance will take place during the final dress rehearsal on Friday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Connor Palace, with tickets beginning at $10. Regular tickets start at $30 and are available at cleveballet.org/thenutcracker or by calling 216.320.9000.
