Cleveland Ballet will present Impressions of Picasso on Saturday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Akron Art Museum, exploring Pablo Picasso’s lifelong interest in ballet. A free pre-performance Behind the Curtain discussion with the company’s artistic staff runs from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.
The program features two ballets inspired by Picasso’s Guernica and Harlequin works, with movements reflecting the angles, colors, and passions of the original paintings. Cleveland Ballet will also perform excerpts from Don Quixote and Paquita, drawing on Picasso’s Spanish influences.
Tickets start at $30 for lawn seating, $50 for patio seating, and $70 for a limited number of premium front row seats. Akron Art Museum members receive $10 off. Tickets are available at cleveballet.org/akron-art or through akronartmuseum.org.
