Great Lakes Theater in Cleveland has named Sara Bruner as producing artistic director designate. Bruner will assume the role of producing artistic director when Charles Fee retires at the end of the 2025-2026 season. The appointment also covers the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
Bruner currently serves as associate artistic director for all three organizations, handling casting, play selection, contract negotiation, and budgeting. Her career includes six years with Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and she received the Princess Grace Award in 2018. She holds an Executive MBA from Boise State University.
Great Lakes Theater board president Kim Bixenstine said Bruner brings “a long history with Great Lakes Theater and its two sister companies, a wealth of theater experience and financial expertise.”
