ArtsWave’s Board of Trustees approved $8,845,540 in Sustaining Impact grants for 47 arts organizations in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region, the organization announced. The funding, drawn from ArtsWave’s 2024 Community Campaign, maintains support at the same level as the previous year.
The grants represent the second year of a three-year cycle tied to the organization’s strategic plan. A 36-member community volunteer panel evaluated the grant applications. The panel included representatives from business, civic and community groups, with ArtsWave reporting that 69 percent of panelists were female and 28 percent were BIPOC.
The largest individual awards went to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra ($2,300,000) followed by the Cincinnati Art Museum ($1,260,000) and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park ($1,055,000). Other recipients included Cincinnati Ballet ($805,000) and Cincinnati Opera ($683,850). The grants were divided among large regional organizations, mid-size organizations and small organizations, with individual awards ranging from $3,000 to $2,300,000.
ArtsWave said its 2024 campaign raised a record $12.5 million from individuals, businesses and foundations. Jon Moeller, CEO of P&G and 2024 campaign co-chair, said the investments “are integral to making the region a compelling location for employees and visitors.”
