Boston Brass and Imani Winds will perform together at E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7:30 p.m. as part of Tuesday Musical’s Akron Concert Series. The program will feature jointly commissioned music by Cuban-American trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, along with works by J.S. Bach, Astor Piazzolla, Paquito D’Rivera, and Lalo Schifrin.
Imani Winds, a Grammy-winning wind quintet now in its 29th touring season, received a 2025 Grammy nomination for its 2024 release “BeLonging,” a collaboration with composer Andy Akiho. Boston Brass, founded in 1986, was inducted into the American Bandmasters Association as associate members in 2024 for its contributions to music education.
